Field Trips and One-Day Programs

School groups can come to our coastal FBES campus, or our naturalists can meet classes at another location, such as a nature preserve or state park near your school. Our staff is very flexible, and we aim to tailor your field trip to cover your curriculum needs. WIth a Ferry Beach Ecology School Field Trip you can:

  • Explore amazing ecosystems — tide pools, beaches, sand dunes, salt marshes and coastal forests, most within walking distance!
  • Spend time outside of school — classmates will be learning together in an exciting natural environment.
  • Learn important science concepts through hands-on, active lessons taught by professional educators.
  • All lessons aligned to State Learning Results — help students meet curricular goals through experiential, entertaining and unique learning opportunities! Please refer to our State Learning Standards Frameworks which you can download in Word format here: Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

Our most popular field trip lessons include:

Beach & Dunes
Forest
Coastal Watersheds
Tide Pools
Climate & Geology
Camp Ellis Erosion Study
