While most of our programs are residential, we also offer outreach programs at your school. Here are some great reasons to consider one of our Outreach Programs:
- Eliminate exorbitant transportation costs by having the Ferry Beach magic come to you!
- Meet your curriculum and state learning standards with interactive, hands-on programming.
- Engage your students with entertaining and inspirational assemblies and lessons.
- Experienced staff will guide your students in utilizing your schoolyard’s outdoor learning environment.
Currently we offer assembly programs, and classroom and schoolyard ecology programs. Check out our Outreach programs below.

Ecology Takes the Stage!
Assembly Program
Ecology Takes the Stage! is a fun, interactive way to introduce your students
to science concepts in five acts and is designed to teach, meet, and assess curriculum needs and MLRs for students in grades K-6. Students will learn about the ABCs of Ecology,
marine habitats, forest ecosystems, sustainability and much more.
The hour-long program includes zany costumes, entertaining songs, student participation, science concepts students can understand and connect to, and lots of laughs for everyone!
- Cost: FBES is currently offering this program at a greatly reduced cost of $500/assembly plus round-trip travel costs ($0.45/mile).
- Pick some possible dates that you will be able to use the assembly space in your school.
- Contact Meg Edstrom, FBES Outreach Director, at meg@fbes.org or call her at (207) 283-9951.
- Optional follow-up lessons — Ferry Beach naturalists will conduct hands-on activities for students in the classrooms or schoolyard. See our Classroom Programs & School Visits below.
