TEACHER FAQ & RESOURCES
To see a listing of the lessons we offer, go to our lessons page at: http://www.fbes.org/residential/lessons.html
We encourage you to make use of our pre-visit curriculum packet which you can download here at:
http://www.fbes.org/faq//pre-visit_Activity_Booklet.pdf.
We also recommend sharing with your students what to expect from their visit and what you expect from them. Some schools have chosen to make behavior contracts with their students to ensure better student conduct and behavior.
FBES has basketballs, soccer balls and volley balls available, if you would like to supplement this supply, we’d be happy to have you do that but it is not necessary. Additionally, if you have cards and board games available to you, they can be very useful on rainy days.
Absolutely. Our administrative staff includes former school teacher Meg Edstrom who taught 3rd-5th grade for four years in Maine. Meg’s teaching certification and experience in the classroom required an ability to deliver and guide curriculum under the auspices of No Child Left Behind standards. Meg, along with our Residential Program Director Alex Grindle, aligned all of our current lessons to meet individual state learning standard requirements. You can download MS Word documents of how FBES is meeting the NCLB standards in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
We have been hard at work gathering information and making plans to keep our clients healthy and safe during their time at Ferry Beach. Please refer to our H1N1 Protocol for more information.
We have a Powerpoint presentation, which we will often coordinate with our client schools to show at parent information nights. Please click here for the Powerpoint.
